IT Project Management

Delivery leadership that keeps scope, budget and timeline honest.

Most technology projects do not fail on the technology. They fail on unclear ownership, drifting scope and decisions that nobody wrote down. Abasyz supplies experienced project managers who run your IT programme with a single plan, a single risk register and one person accountable for the outcome.

Service overview

What IT Project Management covers

Most technology projects do not fail on the technology. They fail on unclear ownership, drifting scope and decisions that nobody wrote down. Abasyz supplies experienced project managers who run your IT programme with a single plan, a single risk register and one person accountable for the outcome.

We work equally well as the lead delivery team or as an extension of an in-house PMO. Whichever model you choose, you get a defined governance rhythm, honest status reporting and a documented handover — so the project stays legible to the people paying for it.

Problems it solves

The situations that bring clients to us

If any of these sound familiar, this service was designed for exactly that.

  • Scope that quietly expands

Requests arrive by email and corridor conversation, never get costed, and the deadline moves without anyone deciding that it should.

  • Status nobody trusts

Every report says amber, the detail changes weekly, and stakeholders cannot tell whether the project is genuinely recoverable.

  • Vendors pulling in different directions

Multiple suppliers each manage their own slice, dependencies fall between them, and integration problems surface late.

  • Go-live without a plan

Cutover, rollback, training and support are treated as afterthoughts, and the first week in production becomes an emergency.

Features and included services

What is included

Every item below is part of the standard scope, written into your agreement before work begins.

  • Business case and scoping

Objectives, success measures, constraints and a costed scope agreed in writing before any build work starts.

  • Delivery planning

Work breakdown, critical path, dependency mapping and a resourcing plan matched to real team availability.

  • Governance and reporting

A fixed meeting cadence, a RAID log that is actually maintained, and status reports written in plain language.

  • Budget and change control

Forecast against actuals, with every change request costed and approved before it enters the plan.

  • Vendor and stakeholder coordination

One point of accountability across suppliers, internal teams and business owners, including contract and SLA tracking.

  • Risk and issue management

Risks identified early, owned by name, with mitigation plans reviewed rather than filed and forgotten.

  • Cutover and transition planning

Runbooks, rollback criteria, comms plans and hypercare arrangements prepared well before the go-live window.

  • Closure and benefits review

Formal sign-off, lessons learned, as-built documentation and a review of whether the promised benefits landed.

Benefits

What changes for your business

  • A plan that reflects reality, because it is built from the delivery team's estimates rather than a wished-for date
  • Decisions made and recorded quickly, so the project is not blocked waiting on ambiguity
  • Fewer surprises at go-live, because cutover and rollback were rehearsed rather than assumed
  • Clear cost control, with change requests priced before they are approved
  • One accountable owner instead of shared responsibility spread across suppliers
  • Documentation and handover that let your own team run the result

Work process

How we deliver it

Each stage produces something you can review, so progress stays visible from the outside.

  1. 01

    Initiate

Confirm objectives, stakeholders, constraints and success measures, and agree how decisions will be made.

  2. 02

    Plan

Build the scope, schedule, budget, resourcing and risk register, then baseline them with the sponsor.

  3. 03

    Mobilise

Stand up the team, tooling, environments and reporting rhythm, and confirm vendor commitments in writing.

  4. 04

    Execute and control

Run delivery against the baseline, managing change, risk and dependencies with weekly visible status.

  5. 05

    Transition and close

Cut over, support through hypercare, hand over documentation and formally close with a benefits review.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about it project management. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

Do you follow a specific methodology?

We use whichever suits the work: predictive planning for infrastructure and rollout projects with fixed dependencies, iterative delivery for software, and a hybrid where the two meet. We adopt your existing framework if you already have one.

Can you manage a project our internal team is building?

Yes. A common engagement is that we supply the project management and governance while your engineers or an incumbent vendor do the build.

Can you take over a project that is already in trouble?

Yes. We start with a short recovery assessment covering true status, scope, budget position and risk, then present options — which sometimes includes recommending that the project is re-scoped or stopped.

How do you report progress?

A written weekly status with schedule position, budget position, open risks and decisions needed from you, plus a steering meeting at whatever interval the programme warrants.
